A faithful student to revolutionary boy-band BROCKHAMPTON's example, 16-year-old artist Victor Cervantes is a perceived believer in labeled love and broadcasting high school emotions as valid. And he continues to tell us in a pretty fashion.

Victor's latest release, Reason, comes balled up as rained-out promises and useless good intentions at the start of something good. Reason's ghostly background harmonizing pushes Vic further from the past he is remembering. His antsy vocals desperately grasp for distractions. I hear the higher pitch of his voice continually climbing as a mental reminder chorus that he needs to stick with the difficulty of not being able to reciprocate love one so painfully desires to give back and make work. Those emotions are underscored throughout Victor's production.

Reason's beat couldn't be more cut and dry. Cervantes' intentional feeble kick, bass and 808 percussion loop sounds like a cycle of feeling let down. His three guitar notes fits this culture of sad boy strings to a T and delicately falls like a tear. Victor Cervantes's involvement with the incredible song BOYFRIEND / WASTE MY TIME made me an instant fan. Reason lets me know the kid can keep it going.

Listen to Reason below.
