For the third installment of "The Weekly Players Playlist" my good friend, David, crafts a 13-song garland of matching tones and vibes -- nearly all in groups of three -- to be an invite on a styled ride with no bumps in the road.
Childish Gambino's tempestuous "Baby Boy" follows in Sly & The Family Stone's footprints directly into the scratchy "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" by The Dramatics before the first tone and vibe is capped off with Kendrick Lamar's throwaway with substantial swing "untitled 06." The magnetic Baby Keem appears twice. Mahalia, the Free Nationals and Lady Alma & The Rainmakers help create a stretch of self-care and protecting your peace that anyone will welcome into their life. The silent engine frequently behind Dreamville, Childish Major, swaddles the set with warmth and Eli Sostre quick-freezes everything to feel numb. Even David's own song "Colorblind" aids in getting the mood back to being leveled.
