Chicago duo Angry Blackmen are working like they want to be the best backcourt in rap, only the job Brian Warren and Quentin Branch have tasked themselves with is the dirty work of a 6th and 7th man. And they are more than willing to do what needs to be done.

Angry Blackmen's latest alarm system comes packed as a six-track EP entitled "Talkshit!" and if you let Wendigo's off-kilter, percussive dominate production tell the story these two rappers are reporting back from a distant future where the fight has turned from violent to frankly more violent.

"Talkshit!'s" introductory song "Anarchy" sputters out malnourished chords that mirror the wind with no objects around before a nuking from the drums and bass crack the ground. Brian and Quentin's verses rap to the discourse infecting the air like spores from "The Last of Us" in a flow that hits the ear almost as if the words aren't coming from them, and that way of "civil rap" goes track-to-track.

The boiling point of the entire EP comes in the title song, "Talkshit!" -- the sound, that of a future we're inevitably headed for. Angry Blackmen's hook has that "No One Ever Really Dies," N.E.R.D draw toward the music when the point becomes disguised in rhythm. Brain and Quentin pull a robbery of power through their raps, indicative of the hook's lyrics that commences to throwing blows. Brian in particular gets off a breathless flow to run his verse like a checklist of mistreatment, seemingly off the suggestion of Q's lens.

"Talkshit!" lives up to the title of the project. This one is all about what the "USA!" artists have to say. And now they are ear-splitting whoever ain't listening.
