Easily one of the music scenes best feature chameleons, Ymtk, has been away for some time now. Coming directly of his project 9Song.Wav I wasn't expecting to hear from the Fall In Place artist for a while, but of course the National Day of Love is what brought him back out. And he's here with fellow Bay Area artist, Kezia.

Ymtk's newest song entitled Need is a flip on his usual composition. Working like a feature on his own song, but not relinquishing his vocal presence, Ymtk created a bop that hits like an 'us against the world' conversation taking place in the inner thoughts between him and Kezia. The Ekzakt-produced track practically speaks the heady space I'm hearing in Need. Chords warped to hell with a looped reverb sounds like some foreign language only these two can understand, bonding them off of sound from jump. Ekzakt's mollifying drums and patient rhythm on his 808 percussion quickly locate the boundaries and doesn't knock beyond them, holding the subjects of the songs to the same standard. The beat doesn't do too much because love doesn't need a lot except two people. And no one on Need knows that better than Kezia and Ymtk.

Kezia's consumed vocals have a winded tone that truly comes through on her harmonies and the longer she holds her notes at the end of her lines. When her vocals start to duet with Ymtk's, he adopts the same tone but adds in the mix of the 'ayy' flow. The sound and impression is that they both have their breath taken away from one another. Her cushy melody and his loose melody paired with unfuckwittable lyrics are built to go together. And as a bonus, they both sing undeniably singable parts for all of us to bite into. Making the only need to listen to this song.

Listen to Need below.
