akihabara! - "fine." is a Musical Fun House

akihabara!'s latest instrumental fine. can easily be described as my musical fun house. This instrumental rips through multiple planes by having more musical tone shifts and beat-switching between two central beats then you can imagine.

What kicks off fine easily opens up beautiful scenic imagery in my mind. akihabara!'s opening musical box chime-like tune and rainy static make it feel like I'm watching lonely cherry blossom pedals descend into a standing body of water that ripples into the beat drop. The beat drop rips open this picturesque plane with a bomb off digitized and bleeped keys, darkness rising horn-like synths, elbowing kicks, pounding drums and prickly 808s that have a harsh sound. The sonics of the raucous create its own plane in my mind of golden grassy hills sitting under an incessantly angry sky that quickly dissipates before opening back up the first Cherry Blossom plane with a beat switch. Suddenly the beats keep switching back and forth. Planes keep opening and closing. Until akihabara! sets fine. ablaze with an amalgamation of the beats, worlds are colliding here. Everything abruptly gets nastier. There is double to tripled hit drums, bicycle bell rings, Childish Gambino's "yeah" ad-lib as a soundbite, claps, dings, laser gun noises, beeping sounds running through a scale, angelic string plucks...and if I'm hearing correctly, a light chord progression living underneath it all. fine. is a wild ride of a song that I enjoyed listening to.

If you truly get behind each little sound akihabara! threw in this pot, you'll get a good taste on how fun this track is. Let's hope that you do.
