Remembering Tupac Amaru Shakur

Tupac Amaru Shakur will always live on and be remembered for what he left behind. There's no possible way I could fit all the things he has done in a single article, but we can start in the most obvious place. The all-time great will of course be remembered and praised for the sensational and inspiring music he presented to the world. He was truly revolutionary for hip-hop. He introduced this new soft poetic side to the music genre. Pac showed the world that rappers can express their feelings and when he did it was on a relatable spectrum that was infinite. He spoke to an entire generation of men, women and children. He was the voice of the unspoken: the oppressed, the poor, the depressed and anyone else that was facing some type of struggle in their life. 2pac spoke for them and made them feel like someone had their back. He represented the entire black communities' hidden excellence. He embodied our artistic side and brought that out of us. Tupac made us fight, live for something and love the skin we were in. He acted as a freedom fighter equally as much as a rapper or a poet. That multitude of crafts he had stretched beyond that which is why Pac is so remarkable.

That remarkable nature went outside of him being a top five rapper of all time and one of the greatest poets we've seen. He acted as well, starring in movies like "Juice", "Poetic Justice" and "Above the Rim" which helped him reach more people by translating that real emotion from his music into the roles he played. Doing so much in so many different outlets helped solidify his permanent spot in pop culture. Tupac has a hand in everything we see in hip-hop today. It's safe to say that he is the most imitated rapper of all time. Lil Wayne has imitated his style. 50 Cent, DMX and even Justin Bieber have all pulled out their best Pac impersonation and that goes to show you how impactful he still is culturally.

There's no telling what Tupac could have done if he were still alive. Musically, we don't have enough to truly know. Without a doubt "2Pacalypse Now" is outstanding, "All Eyez On Me" is phenomenal and so is the rest of his discography, but I know we didn't get to hear Pac at 100%. My mind can wonder for days trying to create what 2Pac's music would have sounded like today, What I do know for sure is he will never die. His music, movies, poems and smile will always have relevancy. We will always need Tupac Amaru Shakur. Rest In Peace to the man and the legend.
