Chelsea Reject Expresses Her Grind & Determination With Her Track "Based"

Don't you just love a dope female rapper?

Yesterday Chelsea Reject dropped her new track "Based" and it reminds me of the Ladybug Mecca days. This song is a dope lady MC being a dope MC, period. It reminds me of the simpler days when all a female rapper had to do to be dope and get respect was with her bars like Lauryn Hill, Roxanne Shante, The Lady of Rage and a number of other women who have graced the mic.

"Based" chronicles the grind Chelsea had to go through. She had to make her own lane to get to where she is now. Her flow is so chill and confident that her presence is felt from the opening line in her first verse. She even manages to slightly get on a higher conscious level and it shows that balance in her music. There's no stopping her because she's skilled on the mic and will do what it takes to get to the top. With "Based" and coming off of her project "CMPLX" that was released earlier this year, Chelsea Reject is an artist you need to watch. She's on the same wave as artists like Tink or T'Nah Apex, bringing that lyricism, intelligence and dopeness back into the rap game as a whole, not just in the female rapper lane they're associated with.
