The concept of bottle episodes has always fascinated me. The ability to tell a narrative from one spot and have the central character(s) walk away more developed or understood is like a private character study we shouldn't be privy to. And to have that format shifted into music is an amusing thing to listen to.
Musical artist Khamari and his latest work entitled "Jealous" is one of these bottle songs and it is quite nice. Written by Khamari and produced with Trackside, "Jealous" holds the motif of looping true with an indolent guitar riff and spinning licks. Perky drums bounce off the four walls of his room and stressed songwriting bring him to his inflection point heard through chirpy melodies and bruised falsetto.
Jealous desperately wants to be social again. The song has its hand on the knob ready to turn and step out into the world, but its not ready to rejoin good times and familiar company just yet. And that's okay to admit.
