Seemingly never leaving behind the mixtape era to become its sole occupant, Choo Jackson's latest release entitled "Flooded Mixtape" rolled out like projects of old, and the outcome on the music made it well worth the anticipation.

Clocking in at a bakers dozen and holding features from FTR DRAMA, Wushu, Shaady and Gio Dee, Flooded Mixtape has an All-Star team from vocal appearances right down to production -- Hellyer, Nice Rec, Jay Card, Big Jerm and Larry Herb to name a few. Many of the tracks center purposeful chords and melodies with dense brooding head bop drums that make way for Jackson's often therapeutic and personal rapping, like on "U A STAR," "New Day" and the gospel ascending "Othersiders" that throws one's suffering into the hands of a potential higher power, with all earthly affairs in order. When Choo is in his singing bag, his melodies come off almost private; when back in his boldness, songs like "Master P" hold a certain hip hop lineage traced throughout Choo Jackson's music that come satisfyingly full circle in perhaps the most fun record on the tape.

Flooded Mixtape is Choo Jackson dripped in his influences and intentions -- a hell of a release ready to be played.
