I know I'm not alone in thinking the days have passed by unbelievably fast. Our days of social distancing and quarantining have seemingly thrown time to the wind, not that we'd be able go out to feel any wind anyway. But regardless, that time should be filled with something. And what better something than gladdening adventure told through lofi beats by one of the best at it, J'von.

J'von's new EP entitled "SideQuest001" (stylized as SIDEQUEST001) brings to life another animated character named Yato, aka Mud jr., vibing to the beats of her creator while she plays her Nintendo Switch. Personally, the EP is something for me to live for during my down time. I am immediately inundated with nostalgia over playing "Dark Cloud" and "Magic Pengel: The Quest for Color" on the Playstation 2 when I was a kid.

The musician and animator's various plumose guitar chords/riffs maintain a melodic current track-to-track liable to float you to an assortment of Edens and oases replenishing this land. Corrugated drums sometimes ride intended rhythm errors you think wouldn't make for a smooth listen yet do. And the production's wildcard, its chords, color in the textures before it. Specifically on "follow," the arpeggiated chord progression is all tension and release with a total feeling of stillness by songs end, making the remaining four songs more easily absorbed.

Whether to speed up your day or completely slow it down, dig into the beats like I have or have your mind drift to sounds -- "SideQuest001" will transmit you to where you wanna go. You just gotta let the music be your guide.

Chill to "SideQuest001" below.
