Sometimes we need music that sounds like the act of perusing through a modern interior design coffee table book. And ... wait, scratch that. We always need music that sounds like the aforementioned pastime I hope to be a connoisseur of someday. Lucky for us, on this bizarro Tuesday (like every weekday now), we have Kaelin Ellis' refreshing instrumental sip entitled "Monday Mornings."

The multi-platinum music producer spreads the soil of the song with a base wah-wah chord progression whose distance within the song puts it as the counter-melody, but the gibberish melody his chords produce jump out in front. Kaelin's woodworking drums plant organic seeds of rhythm in an almost sprinkling style. His rolling drum fills hit the replay button on a loop as the music around it continues to morph into something more tranquil. Monday Mornings' main, rinsing chords/piano section and melodies walk in delicacy. The glimpse of a basking arppegio sprouts something a little melancholic, but the following chords blossom a quietude which begets productivity. Even his small-scale synthesizer shots splash caffeine on the face like cold water to wake up in the morning.

Monday Mornings is how we all wish we could start our weeks -- at ease. So why not start it on whichever day you hear this instrumental?

Enjoy "Monday Mornings" below.
