Ilham Throws Hands with Equal Opportunity on Uh Huh

Queensbridge, New York artist Ilham's latest song "Uh Huh" brings to mind one of my favorite lines from A$AP Rocky's "Brand New Guy" delivered by ScHoolboy Q: "Biggie and Nas put they ass in a blender/ Sprinkle some 50 and came out this n***a." Only, as it pertains to this song, swap Biggie with Gwen Stefani and you'll be in the ballpark of what this song sounds like.

Produced by Dustin Cavazos, "Uh Huh" is pure hostile energy ready to throw these proverbial self-sufficient hands pending a wrong glance. I mean, why else would the name "ilham" and song title be framed by her hands on the cover? Palpitating bass drops, brava claps and grating 808s pin the rhythm to a 2-step enjoying the ruckus. It is a chaos Ilham is overseer of unwittingly.

Ilham's chorus-verse-chorus structure gets off a direct chorus of unimpressed cadence looking to state superiority. The "misunderstood" artist's verses flow in some straightforward syllables with an annoyed delivery and the "Just A Lil Bit" flip to start the second verse assists in how Ilham runs the show physically, emotionally, sexually, etc. The flip is a total reposition of power. So if they ever ask you if she did that you can say "Uh Huh."
