Music's equivalent to Adult Swim's Joe Pera, Zack Villere, has mastery of Internet weirdness attached to their "legendary" in a way that you're drawn to and can't explain. But unlike Joe Pera, Villere makes music and has a great handle on this creating songs thing. And we, or at least I know exactly why I like it.

Zack Villere's "A Feeling" is the b-sides to melodies and chords no one else can find use for or even think up. His vocals are a mouthful of dribbling tears, flexible melodies and begging lyrics idiosyncratic to the doodle world his music scores while writing down the emotions of the song and making them move like a flip book. A strumming chord progression softens any hurtful emotional blows coming Zack's way, while synthesizer whistles sing the song of adventures of the heart.

"A Feeling's" sections of instrumental breaks feel improvisational in the dipping and dappling of the chord work. The sound ushers in a multiplex of changes in the drums, added falsetto harmonies and even more chords not previously heard at the beginning of the song. Then the record boils over with a combustible drum break playing like an out of control intersection -- think Kendrick Lamar in the "King's Dead" video.

Zack Villere's "A Feeling" is another quirky chapter in the story. But that doesn't mean it's not as good.
