Philadelphia-based artist/producer instupendo shifts attention with pure aesthetic, but once the "Faces I Know" artist has it the 2019 EP "Boys by Girls" leaves you rethinking what you have felt for the better.

"Boys by Girls" disinvents how straight we view one another. Instupendo wants lines blurred and bodies converging through fragmented sound, nonuniform vocals song-to-song and broad-minded songwriting seemingly not in a linear timeline. Washy production opens an alcove of nylon chords and fantastical background sounds to age pacifistic melodies over 7 tracks. "Boys by Girls" wants to stellate through Instupendo's simulated vocals like what is found on the fluid "Earring" or traverse artificial drum patterns to sober your headphone party like with "Sugar."

Self-composed, produced and mixed (credited to real name Aidan Peterson), Instupendo applies pastels and futuristic furniture as the decor for the safe space created from the music. A place I think we would all love to visit.
