Elujay is deep in his soulful bag on the newly released Starchild, hoping to touch a piece of his lover's inner universe.
The track, with a deep rotation of producers including Aabo, HXNS, Yunglame and additional keys from Kev Concepcion, creates a planet-hopping excursion following along a magically dusted road.
Starchild's lumpy chords nervously talk to the ligneous drums and sabulous percussion to open a vast rhythm pocket filled with all types of thoughts and feelings. The silky guitar riff nurturing Elujay's fleecy melody quickly fills most of the space and the production begins to take a saccharine form, a form that begins to feel anthropomorphic. When the guitar chords hit slight changes to match Elujay's gorgeous tone shifts in his vocals, SC sounds like a lot of blushing is going on within the song.
Starchild's production and Elujay's vocals are equally as much partners as he is to the girl he croons about. Elujay can make love feel untethered to earthly bounds, the otherworldly chorus is testament to that. He makes love the height of the universe. All we can hope for is to find what he is singing about.
