Christmas may be over, but that doesn't mean the gifts stop coming. I looked hard and long, and gift wrapped for our hearts was Canaan Lopez's dream pop face palm, Fool.

Canaan's Fool gives standing around for the person you'll never get mass appeal. From the lead afterglow courtesy of a main divorced guitar riff and wimpy-sounding drum loop gives the song a perpetual mood of feeling, for lack of a better word, like a fool. But truly, those chords have the lustrous sound that reads as a complete coat over the reality of a relationship, or lack there of. And the face, or rather the voice, of foolishly loving falls on Canaan Lopez.

Lopez's oblivious and slightly optimistic vocals in tone have an overall sound of being projected from a fuzzy screen. His emotions come across lost in translation or simply ignored. His bland melody relays the idea of how lonely he is, though he might not feel it due to the thought of "her."

Fool's designed underwhelming aesthetic has a really awesome sound. Canaan Lopez's feelings have a gravitational pull, and by song's end you're looking foolish with him as a listener. It's a spot I think most of you will love to be in.
