A balanced sonic breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Auditory cook and artist, Paul Cherry, dished out a toothsome track entitled Like Yesterday that not only satisfies your sweet tooth, but leaves you properly fed.

Cherry's Like Yesterday slices open with two layers of chords. Jarring, looping unmoving chords atop a brooding chord progression that immediately tags the song's personality as a glutton for emotional punishment. Like Yesterday's flat drums sound like a single snare bass drum, hi-hat relationship and the sound, although poppy, hits the tone with a loop of shrugs. The glazed percussion compliments the licks of taffy tongued guitar chords sugared throughout the track, especially during those changes. LY's instrumentation is the sweet in our morning oatmeal, with Paul Cherry providing the needed savory flavoring.

Paul C's hushed tone in his vocals hold close the fond memories his lyrics drape over the song. The Chicago artist's singing is Demarco-esque, similarly making the magic happen in the chorus. When I hear Paul's vocals, I visualize uncontrollable crying with a smile on your face. His vocals happily hurt because at least the pain is attached to a once great love.

Like Yesterday makes something pretty out of an unfortunate truth and it makes me comfortable with the idea of breakfast for one. So for those who need it, it's time to get your helping.
