Jacksonville, Florida born, now California living artist Silas took things to a sonically weird place that is overwhelmingly comforting.

Silas's latest, Static, manipulates vocals at an uncomfortable yet comfortable tempo and sounds gnarly in the process. His vocals gargle like he's singing with water flooded lungs. That underwater sound highlights the torporific melody which in turn highlights Satic's sick, greasy bassline (seriously, that bassline). Silas' serene changes remind me of Austin Feinstein's introductory chords to start Tyler, The Creator's Garden Shed. A nook of bliss, a safe space exists in those chords and Silas' changes continually moves the location, and if it weren't for the leafy percussion/palmy drums we wouldn't be able to reach the location again.

I simply love the song's sound and pacing. A song called Static ironically moves you from place to place. And my hope is y'all will love wherever you are going.
