In part due to a Laura Nyro vocal sample getting the reversed Kanye The Glory treatment, artist Caleborate's latest, Lege Kale-produced song Soul hits as if your granddaddy's platform shoes could talk.

The soul-living track cuts a space for Caleborate to rhyme boss moves into existence. His rhyming, although catchy, is plainly rhyme schemes over real world situations to deliver us that real. Caleborate rocks an obstinate cadence, highlighting points in his rapping that feels out to liberate hug-the-block mentalities and open up one's possibilities beyond their neighborhood. A reinforcing hook with similar melodically satisfying vocals laced throughout the song awaken the spirits from the song within you. Caleborate's verse pushes Soul to "break the mold" -- a task not executed without Lege Kale's production.

Kale's percussion rides comfortably over the drums. Stannic percussion shoots a liveliness into the music, but keeps everything grounded by almost reminding of bucket percussion. Lege's drums/bass beats from the other side of the door, exiting with subwoofer vibration aftershock. Soul goes for it and easily gets you charged up.

Caleborate is out to help you retain your personal flair. If this doesn't do it for you, I don't know what will.

Listen to Soul below.
