Artist and overall dude who doesn't suck, ShowYouSuck, dropped a song about cool things aptly entitled Cool. And the serotinal tangibility, musical coast in the track was something, well...so cool.

The Professor Fox-produced ode to life being cool, sometimes, has me looking at minor wins as major dubs.

Cool's kickoff piano keys/chord progressions operate in a loop of divergent highs, low notes and tones that sound caked atop one another, instantly giving Cool this sanguine outlook in the atmosphere. Fox's loosened drums remind me of Kid Cudi's production space, especially the sole bass drum instrumental outro. The callback to Cudi's sound makes complete sense with ShowYouSuck's rapping/singing quirks. Suck's list-style of rapping on this cut goes hand-in-hand with the listing of things that are cool as lyrics -- moms, stealing internet (your neighbor's unprotected wifi), free food backstage, world peace...the list goes on. His lyrics remind me of the personal heaven Steve Smith speaks of on American Dad.

But more importantly, ShowYouSuck's voice and laid-back cadence oddly evoke images of Flying Lotus' face and a mirroring of Killer Mike's regular speaking voice ("And dammit, that's cool!"). Cool's moment of interlude introduces ShowYouSuck's Cudi-like melodies through harmonizing adlibs. I totally dig SYS's vocals and the full circle sound, with the final repeat of what is cool before the only thing that isn't cool, Donald Trump, maybe being the coolest thing of them all.

And I hope none of it is lost on any of you.

Listen to Cool below.
