The world may have been officially honoring the late, great Aaliyah August 25, however, it is never too late to celebrate the work of the music industry's angel. Producer Prosodi J.'s 3-year-old instrumental, The Aaliyah-Lude, being prime example of this.

The Aaliyah-Lude is Prosodi's RPG moving drum patterns, whimpering strings/chords and a soul-gutting sax section arranged over an Are You That Somebody sample, drawing you in like music peering from behind a rainy window.

Prosodi J.'s tempo-focused drums hold The Aaliyah-Lude in a pocket of pinning. The drums evoke memories of the way Aaliyah moved. Teary keys keep the track appropriately sad, but you can't help but step to Aaliyah's vocals when you hear the sample. The closing sax ends this song's chapter in noir fashion, additionally there's an encore of the sample with a distant effect applied to it to put Aaliyah in that crossroads plain, a la Eazy-E if you know what I mean.

The Aaliyah-Lude is a pretty ode to Queen Aaliyah. "Angelic Stacks" was in the track's description and I, for one, agree.
