There is noting quite like a delicious novelty song to feed the underfed fragment of music's mirthful spaces. It's an area the duo Button (Bobby Earth + PVNDO) cooked up some food for, almost quite literally. Receiving help from the woman with the butterfly vocals -- Nikko Gray acting as sous-chef on their cut House Of Pie.

House Of Pie is an ode to food if I've ever heard one. HOP's production immediately flips their closed sign to open through a delightfully bloated sound. Button's tripping and sanding 808s percussion has a polishing effect. The padding bass is doughy, playing to House Of Pie's foodverse of strictly desserts. Light streams of acoustic guitar strums bring a certain feeling of a tasty rendezvous between me and sweets. And suddenly a bop blast drum is popping said sweets into my mouth. The music is a straight sugar rush. Button's distorted chords then scratch in ear and transport the eating experience to an arcade machine. House Of Pie suddenly sounds like a eating video game. The sound is warped as hell with its own unique rhythm. The music beckons you to a nice place you don't want to leave, egged on by that welcoming groovy psychedelic Bootsy Collins-like greeting to warm up the song. So you know I'm definitely grabbing a seat at the "Button Bakery."

Nikko Gray's vocals sound like that bonus level of catching desserts while they fall. She sings seductively about pie, almost as if she's convincing beloved pies like Key Lime Pie, Sweet Potato Pie and Blueberry Pie that they're tasty. I heard Gray's airy harmonizing as if she's trying to coax pie from the sky. She has the tone of the smooth antagonist persuading someone. Her singing made me hungry, a job well done for House Of Pie if you ask me.

I hope y'all have an appetite for this tasty pie. Because Button's House Of Pie is what's on the menu and based on the music alone, this will be your one and only choice.
