The blossoming of good musical talent is always fun to watch. Reaching the realization of when it's time to metaphorically catch scent of said blossoming talent merits complete satisfaction, a place I have reached. A place you will all want to reach through the enjoyment of Tim Woods' sonic eulogy, Pushing Daisies.

Woods' Pushing Daises EP is a reflection on the life and times of Tim Woods as told by his family and friends. Spanning 14-tracks, Woods makes songs that marinate in their own celebratory energy. His mood singing/slash/rapping lifts us into states of being live at the party or suspended in his purgatory. Woods calls in features from Izzar Thomas, Wolfe De Mchls, Rizzoo Rizzoo, Deaven and Lita Styles, who in their individual ways flare up his moment of "receiving his flowers." He recruits a list of producers, sculpting flickering production to score these memories. You hear the likes of the increasingly recruited Bobby Earth on Palaces and the digital groovin' Bootsy Collins joint. There's Vaccid's production on No Strings, GodDineroMusik, Sly Drexler, George Young, ZJethro and many more who flex their production. As a plus, the Robert Guillaume-channeling intro Words From Our Host is a booming way to open a tape.

Houston-bred Tim Woods made a dope project I'm eager for y'all to hear. Through these ears, this is the type of dope sh*t that comes from a post Days Before Rodeo influence. I caught some Travis Scott-like auto-tune mannerisms in the vocals, particularity in the bridge on Bak N Town (my favorite cut). A song that is its own monster of an Rhythm&Banger about Tim Woods' chill after his climb. I dig it all. Tim Woods' vocals come with an infectious energy. The lyrics exude mindless fun to existential thoughts while the music feels and sounds like the will of the youth. If the music accurately played out Woods' life, I'd say he lived a pretty lit one.
