Mannywellz mashed two (three on technicalities) of the most addictive parts from the best songs of the year. And a thank you is in order.

Mannywellz extracted from the Chance the Rapper + Jamila Woods sung hook for Blessings. He also used from Blessings (Reprise), singing "Are you ready for your blessings?/ Are you ready for you miracle?" But that's not all. He brought in the unlikely match of the melody and ad-libs from Jon Bellion's Guillotine. And boy, does this mash-up work.

Mannywellz's Blessings/Guillotine is completely transformed. The mash-up is so seamless, it makes the songs play like they were written together. For starters, Mannywellz makes the tracks have an island move with his production. His snare drum pad and wall kicking bass relationship is a simple pattern. The measure is 1-2-1-2 repeating, but it gets me moving immediately. And then he starts singing the lyrics pulled from each song as a stand-in hook. Trust me, it's heat. He fits it in the pocket so nicely, the added beatboxing, the organic percussion ticks give the sound extra bounce. And of course there's Mannywellz's blip of a praising chord progression. Those chords gleam very quickly before the beat legitimately drops. The drums get more gummy. The percussion moves to 808 percussion. The ticks are a tad more dingy. I picture the atmosphere this music exists in suddenly becoming night, followed by a speedy party. The sound is so fun. A fun that never wavers in Mannywellz's verses.

Mannywellz kicks a verse strongly linked to Blessings. He works in a lot of God talk from his own voice. He sounds so inviting, his voice almost party ready because of all these blessings. And while he's doing that he shuffles the Jon Bellion ad-libs and the Bellion-like beatboxing. It's amazing. I would have never imagined songs from such divergent worlds marrying so well. Mannywellz has a stout musical ear. This joint from the rip is creative and fun. Blessings/Guillotine is a must listen. Trust me...you don't wanna miss out.
