The term genius is thrown out too easily, and frankly when it isn't even remotely deserving of whomever the heady title is being bestowed on. But I believe Terrace Martin breathes that title. Better yet, the multi-instrumentalist performs that title. And that shines through in his visuals for Push ft. Tone Trezure.

This Velvet Portraits cut portrays the influence of 60's-70's black expression and manifests itself into a different lane of the physical. The vibrant animated visuals look and feel inspired by The Electric Company. The music's funk and soul direction seep into the core of this video and has it groovin'. The combination of playful imagery like flowers and trees is fun and attention grabbing. Seeing the words "PUSH" at the tail end of the bridge and the hook pop up like interactive content is extra engaging in the song. The visuals feel inclusive of all shades of black. I feel showing the beauty of our people. The visuals fly like the music -- free.

The artistry is high here. This is something y'all are gonna wanna check out. And in the words of King Kendrick from one of my favorite Kendrick cuts, Ab-Soul's Outro (on Dot's Section.80,) "Now fuck 'em up Terrace."
