The group Sonder, (Brent Faiyaz, Atu, & Dpat,) is bringing scenic posed love back into R&B. And as far as I'm concerned, their Zane Lowe on Beats1 premiered song, Too Fast, easily converges that quality with tastes of tragedy.

Sonder's Too Fast peels back the sonic curtains with an already dreadful sound. The whining strings instantly covers the track in a down-on-my-luck lonely sentiment. The beat's simplicity makes the song sound and feel that much more vulnerable. Too Fast's slinking bass has a low, deep thud that is typically being plucked in the 1st measure. That bass -- stressed. The surrounding, shaming snaps between the bass has a hold on the rhythm. The sounds are driving your art of chill, but I believe it sets up the tragedy in the love. Especially once you hear the drum's pockets.

Digging into the meat of the rhythm, the drum's sound has its own damaged walk. Something that Brent Faiyaz reverberates in terms of love with his vocals.

I hear Brent Faiyaz singing with an attentiveness and willingness to ease his love's emotions, to give her confidence in him and his hurried loving. Brent Faiyaz's falsetto spikes, a moment when the infatuation does too, a feeling that changes towards the end of the track. It sounds very good. I like it a ton.

Sonder is a good bunch. Too Fast rides smoothly. It's good tunes to match late-night thoughts. So give this one a listen.
