From time to time, the "up and coming" producers or artists are the people putting out some of the nicest music. It all boils down to looking in the right place. And that right place is through All Good Records' Freshly Baked, Vol. 01.

The 10-track mixtape takes producers and musicians (handpicked by GRiZ & AGR) from all corners of the internet, like Falcon Punch, Ganja White Night, Mind Cntrl and Recess to name a few. Freshly Baked, Vol. 1 feeds us differing sonic stages that are killer to the core. The introductory instrumental entitled Pop Fly by Jonah Baseball grooved me into a musical safe space. The groove of his poppy hand drums with that true R&B kick is infectious. And how the drums stew into freestyling anal-retentive drumline snares was a cold moment in the music. There was an excitement brought to the song, not to mention Pop Fly's finale rhythm guitar shucks. The sound of those strings are lightly muted. It's great. And that's just the first song. It gives the listener a bold taste of what's to come.

There's 10 songs, and there's something for everyone. Birocratic - Overexpressed is a loud exuberant synthetic keyboard pool, with nutty beat machine splashes as a smooth cradling chord progression is acting lifeguard. WIZE - Know You digitizes a jazz listening experience. The track gets game like in my opinion. Yung Bae - Brighter Day is a lovely tribute to the legend Nujabes. Yung's piano keys looping the somber notes they play has finality in their sound. The work of the hi-hat, the snare and kick conversation mixing with the glittery chimes creates an image of riding off into the sunset. It would have been something if that was the closing track. But you all get it.

All Good Records' Freshly Baked, Vol. 01 is a nice treat. It's another batch of music that I recommend without hesitation. As the cover art suggests, your head may explode. I should know -- it happened to me.
