KingBritt

The sonic architect King Britt, a.k.a the provider of the 1s and 2s for the great group Digable Planets, dropped a wonderful composition dedicated to the lives lost on 9/11. I regrettably didn't find this piece of music until yesterday, but the dedication will always remain timeless. And the music is a pool of sounds that should be experienced.

King Britt's 9-11-16 is nearly an 18-minute sound tank. The arrangements of sounds, the looping of certain sounds, the gorgeous seemingly smooth transitions all assist in practically cutting me off from every sense but hearing. Britt's outset drum brush beating builds up that infectious rhythm through the rainy beads sound it finds itself in front of. That brush quality, nearly undetected, slides into an arcade machine trapped synth that follows the same beat pattern and tempo. I love how routine these transitions sound.

9-11-16 doesn't stop there with the sonic twists and turns. The arcade-styled synth is in a constant strike before the amplitude of it grows, moving like a cord waved up and down and taking on a Stranger Things synth severity sound. The music is awesome. King Britt's chimey cotton candy textured chord progression/key dabbling is sweet. The music nurtured my nature to daydream, putting me completely at ease. As the entire track progresses, King Britt effortlessly layers on sound after sound, never sounding convoluted, with each sound adding something special to the music. I love this composition. I haven't even begun to describe half of the noises that show up in the music.

King Britt made a beautiful electronic dedication. I needed to appreciate an uninterrupted instrumental that gradually gets more interesting. The last three minutes of this thing is like a happy climax to an action movie. The production class here is gold. I thank King Britt for these sounds. Our legends shouldn't be taken for granted for the simple fact that most of them are still turning out dope music like this.
