You only need to be a music lover to know that the selection of sounds is extremely important. The proper "random" sound selection, the peculiar arrangement of said sounds, the (personally favored) incorporation of live instrumentation, and so on can evoke the perfect feeling and immerse the listener in an unforgettable to familiar atmosphere. And courtesy of Alpha Pup Records, Elusive linked with jazz trumpeter Josh Koslow to execute these exact techniques to open a sonic digitized jazz club that I can spend all night at.

Their fresh cut Morning Rise has the gorgeous subtle walk like your normal jazz song, but still colors in the lines of being birthed through the Internet. Elusive's opening keys are played at a frolic. There's a light spin and movement in the sonics of it, in the climb of each note and strike from chord to chord. The top pop sound, drums that say "dop dop dop-dop" keeps Morning Rise on high alert, while the sporadic glass clinks and clock hands turning opens up space for thought. I find a relaxing calmness in the sound. It's kept at a background volume so the sounds more or less hit with a natural airiness. I like it. The hints of the weirdly keyed progression and fizzed synths roaming around somehow shine a light on those sounds. It helps contain the calm, while Josh Koslow's beautiful trumpet gives everything a place to be.

Josh Koslow took Morning Rise to the jazz club. Josh's trumpet blows at a steady rise before spewing off into a sustained serenade that has a glow about it. The lightness with which he plays his horn reminds me of a literal sunrise. There's a warmth in the sound. His trumpet verbalizes "WAKE UP!" through the improvisation. It's relaxing jazz, and there's a freedom to it. I dig the sound. I dig the feelings the music takes me through. I hope y'all do, too.
