I thought Brick's music and I, well, that we had an understanding -- apparently we don't. Because yet again, he's taken this ball of energy that is his music, turned it upside down and took me back to the hood. With the help of his collaborative partner .disfnk, I believe they've turned their new track DONT into this toyish, kiddish neon nightclub atmosphere. And I love it.

DONT opens with this immediate built-up anticipation. The effect on, or mode, this drum kit kicks off in sounds like it belongs somewhere in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The steel pan hollowness sound married to this sedated 80's electro tonal targeted keys fool us until the surprise jumpiness of the rest of the track. The constantly squeaking noise of a plush toy, the exuberant beatboxing wood clave clicking, the hype-building claps and how that drum kit slowly morphs into more sporadic gelatin textured keys is exciting. The music made me salivate for that beat drop. And then it came.

BRICK and .disfnk produced a club worthy beat drop. That first aftershock of bass suspends DONT for a brief moment as if it were shot with Zero Suit Samus' paralyzer gun. It was awesome. I felt like I was in the livest club at that very moment. And then they start throwing in Drake and Bryson Tiller sound bites. And a bevy of other sound effects before the last sequence of DONT breaks it down and goes off on its very own freestyle tangent that would be deemed unacceptable not to dance to.

DONT is such a fun track. SuperDuperBrick and .disfnk threw in a ton of crazy pleasing noises that just give you a jolt to get up and dance. So stop reading this, get up, and dance.

Bump DONT below.
