I couldn't sit idly by after hearing an instrumental like the one from NLV Records, Gobstopper Records, TUFF WAX, Black Link Sound Records and Different Circles' artist Strict Face. His joint Rouge Park, (although 5 months old,) are sounds that need to brush against as many ears as possible as soon as possible.

I'm certain Rouge Park was constructed in a Dexter-designed laboratory. It's experimental right down to its very fiber. I had no clue where this instrumental was going to go, and that was the complete fun of it. Strict Face concocted a multitude of sounds that in my opinion met somewhere right in the middle of futuristic and fantasy. Strict Face substitutes traditional drums with an intriguing poppy blurp from the cacophony of pots and pans that filters through what sounds like an underwater bubble. It's so different. And that's what makes Rouge Park so interesting. There's a peppered shaker with the tenacity of 808s. And it's all backed by Strict's fantastical keys that have such a heavy pipe organ accordion-esque effect on them that it threw me in an RPG setting. The sequences of keys have a calming 'wandering the village' after the action video game sound, only adding to the weird sonic spectacle Strict Face laid out for us on Rouge Park. And I appreciate it. This is a fun track that gets the imagination running. And the only thing left to do is listen.

Listen to Rouge Park below.
