Nick Leon's instrumental mix for The Love Below's {BFF's mix series} has been out for a few days, but it's such an intoxicating mix musically that it still needs to be shared. The mix is a refreshing jolt musically that I enjoyed, and I think y'all will enjoy it, too.
If you don't know Nick Leon's name yet, you will. Florida's music space is crucial and it's blowing up fast. Artists like Denzel Curry, Twelve'len, Robb Bank$ are all artists not to be slept on, and Nick's production is behind a lot of these acts that are striving. Like those acts, his mix exists in a refreshing lane where he completely gets his feet wet with new sounds. It's a straight electric dance mix in all the capacities dance music can exist in, a most vibrant dance club banger if I've ever heard one. The whole mix has massive amounts of energy through the drums and all other constantly moving elements. The music, the way Nick Leon transitioned from track to track all made me move based on what I was hearing. I thought it was freeing, while at the same time taking on a neo-noir atmosphere that feels like a neon-colored lit club in a dystopian future (resembling Blade Runner) sufficiently surrounded by the gravity of high-speed awesomeness. Nick Leon's mix is extremely enjoyable and belongs in one of the most eccentric and fun clubs around. Because this mix can get anyone moving.
