It may be the day after Thanksgiving (I hope the holiday was great for you and yours) but I'm still thankful for the new AKTHESAVIOR track we got yesterday.
AK's new track entitled "NEVER CHANGE" is a refreshing song. AK stays in that realm of being in a higher consciousness, but occasionally he ventures out to deliver smooth, sometimes braggadocios bars in an extremely relaxed tone that creates a zen atmosphere. THESAVIOR balances his themes and tone with the beat. Those two elements working in tandem literally took me to a different plane all through sound. The beat has these enticing dream-like vocals, calm kicks, claps and distant symbol hits that ring into a place only visited through hallucinating. "NEVER CHANGE" is a very strong song that really tapped into my imagination. It took me to those places that only music can take you to. There's a wonderful beat ride to close out the song that can easily be the score to an anime feature. It definitely leaves the song completely open to interpretation. And that, in my opinion, is what brands this song as art and as one of AK's strongest solo efforts. I'm truly beginning to enjoy his solo songs a lot more than when he teams up with Issa Gold to drop off something from The Underachievers, although it's still very good music. It's just AKTHESAVIOR alone is always on another level. "NEVER CHANGE" proves that and has me eager to hear more from the Brooklyn rapper.
