Tyler, The Creator Drops an Outstanding Video for "BUFFALO"/"FIND YOUR WINGS"

The mind of Tyler, The Creator is a beautiful thing. The Odd Future general dropped off a two for one video and man, is the world a little bit better now that we have this. This double feature video for the songs "BUFFALO" and "FIND YOUR WINGS" has got to be the most captivating video I've seen all year.

The first half of the video opens with the visuals for "BUFFALO". Right away the video draws me in. We see Tyler portrayed as a white man hanging from a tree while a mob of angry black people surround and later chase him. It's dope how he reversed the race roles. Tyler moves carefree among the group of black people and when the video cuts back to T, he just smiles and keeps it moving. It's almost as if he's ignoring the reasons why they're all angry. That's basically what's going on with the whole Black Lives Matter movement right now. Tyler's spot on with that. He makes an even stronger statement by putting on his 'Golf Pride World Wide' shirt (that I'm still trying to cop) which supports the LGBT community. I saw the small scene with the shirt as being representative of those who show support for the LGBT community but can't stretch that same mindset of support to the black community. I'll leave the ending of the first half of the video a surprise.

The second half of the visuals for "FIND YOUR WINGS" is where Tyler, The Creator's full-fledged musician side manifests. The video looks as if it was filmed in the 70's while it opens with Tyler doing a Soul Train-esque interview about the song. I love the little tidbits he threw in about the song and especially Roy Ayers' involvement. It adds to T's genius musically along with a whole new perspective for the song. The remainder of the visuals show him performing the song with Kali Uchis, some members of The Internet and Left Brain. That's just dope in itself.

The videos are truly beautiful. I love them both and I admire what Tyler, The Creator is doing. He is pushing the limits of music and videos by making what is classified as hip-hop broader and by showing that he is not constricted in this one box. He is a jack of all trades and I, for one, don't want to ever see his creativity boxed up. Not when Tyler is giving us great music and videos like this.
