Travis Scott & Kanye West Dance with Death in the "Piss On Your Grave" Video

Travis Scott's "Piss On Your Grave" has quickly become one of my favorite songs off "Rodeo". The track felt a little wonky in rotation with all the other songs on "Rodeo" but it never disturbed my groove. And now it's even better as a stand alone song. Scott's performance with West at the Summer Ends Festival showed me proof of that and now the video for "Piss On Your Grave" solidifies it.

The visuals directed by Nabil have such strong imagery. The setting of the foggy forest alone gave me a feeling of fear and a sense of seclusion. The video's all around eerie look and tone up the ante once Travis and Kanye engage in various activities in said forest. From going absolutely wild to just lingering in a very nonchalant kind of way, no matter which way they're acting they are almost completely oblivious to the man dressed in black with the mask standing behind them. It's clear that this man (who Travis said is played by the legend Mos Def) is Death. Incorporating this in the video gives the emotion of fear its true direction, toward a bigger fear of God which focuses Ye and La Flame's motives onto a clearer lens. In the video, Death seems to be on their side, helping them make the final grave big enough to fit everyone in. That final grave is shown in the visuals and I immediately thought that that is the grave Ye and Trav are gonna piss on. The grave is massive enough for everybody and they both have that 'I'm better than everybody' mentality, so everyone should end up here once death is done with them. It's very creative, whether you view it through my lens or your own. The video has an unspoken, unsettling aggression to it that gives the song a whole new dimension. It's definitely a good video that makes me want a Travis Scott x Kanye West project ASAP. Let's hope that one is on the horizon.
