Jay Rock's album "90059" may have only dropped last month, but so much music has dropped since that a lot of people have already moved on to the latest album out. I'm personally still rockin' with "90059" tough and the newest video for "The Ways" (feat. Sir) is a great reminder to those that forgot how good it is.
The video itself on the surface is as common as any video out today. Jay Rock, Sir and Isaiah Rashad are dropping racks in a strip club. Rock is taking us through the ways of a strip club. We watch the night progress and how wild things gets. The effects take the visuals a step further. Some of the scenes are blurred to show the state of everyone inside the club, giving me the impression that it was a liquor-filled night and the blurred moments won't be remembered the next day. Specifically, when Jay Rock ends up in the bathroom having sex with one of the strippers. Which is a very solid way to show how out of control things can get up in the strip club. The visuals fall into the theme of the song very nicely, especially in terms of the pre-hook and hook. I got true insight of Rock's reckless and insane side that played a key role in "90059". From that perspective it's a deeper video that comes off more creative than it looks. It's a dope video anyway you look at it because really, who doesn't like a good strip club video?
