Hodgy Beats Teams Up with Bishop Nehru for "To/Day/Morrow"

Hodgy Beats just dropped a new song entitled "To/Day/Morrow" ft. Bishop Nehru. The three-minute song brings the tortured realness about life into fruition. The doleful trumpet arrangement starts off the track. The sound is unstable and truly sets up the entire conceptual and emotional direction of the song. That unstable feeling of being unsure carries over into each of their verses.

Hodgy's verse ponders the concept of survival. He spits about what it takes to survive and what has to be done to do so. He has impressive lines where he briefly touches on our human nature to want to know who we are, why we're here, what happens to us after we pass on and will I be gone tomorrow. Those questions in Hodgy Beats' verse (and the hook) bring a relatable element to the song because everyone has asked these questions so it taps into our deeper thinking. Bishy's verse feels more sure than Hodgy's. He has a line that says "Ain't a thing promised tomorrow that's what they say/but in my case ain't a thing promised today". That specific line steers his verse into the direction of doing all he can today so he can get to that good place that he's headed to tomorrow. Bishy Bish still has hints of the dark parts about life in his verse but they come off more as personal recollection to let us know these are the things he's overcome. It's a real dope song. Both are acting as the yin and yang of life so it creates some strong subject matter and I, for one, want to see more collabs in the future because this is just the tip of the ice berg.
