Chuck D Drops Powerful New Video for the Track "Mine Again"

We're in a very interesting time right now. History looks to be repeating itself more frequently everyday and there seems to be a greater need for Public Enemy now more than ever. Well, the legend Chuck D of Public Enemy dropped off a mind-opening new video for the track "Mine Again" and it's as deep, as truthful and as powerfully black as ever.

The video opens with a space view of the continent of Africa, quickly panning over to Chuck D's location in Africa. Once the hip-hop great is shown he wastes no time making powerful statements: "So it's cool to be black/Until it's time to be black" which are the most relevant words spoken to date. This one line sets the entire tone for the song and video. The rest of the visuals are different slides naming various countries in Africa and pictures of the people that hail from said countries. As those slides play, the conscious rapper is spittin' that we have to get back to the roots of our Motherland, take care of it and its people because Africa as a whole is the most pimped place on Earth - whether it be the people or its resources. The higher up's take advantage of the continent that birthed the world and I agree with him. Chuck also implores us to get to know ourselves by knowing where we come from because we as a people were more than just slaves. Our history stretches back further than that and a lot of people need to know that. It's all powerful imagery and words that aren't out of the norm for something from Chuck D. It's good music and a good video but more importantly, it's a good message that needs to be heard. Yo Chuck - I, for one, hear you loud and clear.
