Mike Dece's "Rich Slut" Adds to Why C9 is The Future

I'm not the biggest Mike Dece fan in the world but I do like him and his music. His latest project "Rich Slut" is just great to listen to.

You might know this dude from his feature on Denzel Curry's song "Ice Age" off his double EP "32 Zel/ Planet Shrooms". If you do then you're somewhat familiar with his sound that translates over into this project. His ability to have a chill flow yet bring the energy and give you a hype song at the drop of a dime keeps this project sounding fresh throughout. The song "What Do You Need" gives us a moment when he's chill and pondering living and the real necessities in life. Being someone who prefers substance and things to provoke thought through music (especially rapping) I loved that moment. There are those moments in this project where I don't care for the lyrics. The lines about drugs and women not portrayed in the greatest light gets old quick and I could do without it.

I do equally love and appreciate Mike's means to integrate the hype tracks to simply sound good and make you feel good. He does that with songs like "Prophecy", "Marilyn Manson" (which granted does have some lyrics that are mind-numbing) and fan favorite "The Federation" (which reverses their rolls and features Denzel Curry). This was a nice little project that has a pretty alright chance at longevity. I enjoyed it and it added to why C9 is the future. It's about time you get on board with that.
