Vic Mensa's "U Mad" Video Got Us all Happy and Raging

Ain't no one mad with Vic Mensa's "U Mad" video. From the jump you feel the energy of the song and that shines through even more with the visuals of Vic jumping as the beat builds and all of a sudden he is surrounded by a bunch of people.

The whole opening sequence really gives you the vibe of Kanye West's live performance of "All Day" at the 2015 BRIT Awards, which makes sense since Kanye is in "U Mad." Vic's creativity and individuality is successfully shown and Kanye's influence on the video is felt and is the extra cherry on top. Once Kanye comes into the video he slowly walks out of the darkness and the video has this whole new feel to it. It is like you're watching Michael Jordan take over a basketball game, he makes the song feel like it became designer.

Once its back in Vic's corner, he is pretty relentless. Of course this verse consists of his very memorable Ray Rice reference which is honestly one of the high points of the song. It grabs your attention and I bet some of you were mad after you heard it. I love it for that reason.

The video closes with Vic in a room with red carpet and he's looking right at a bull. This can mean an assortment of things, but I interpreted it as Vic being the agitator and that is what he's there to do. Bulls are known to get mad as well so to me it represents the people he offends. Or it could be an ode to the Chicago Bulls. Think about it.

The Vic Mensa and Kanye West duo is pretty exciting. It reminds me of when Kanye started to work with Kid Cudi a lot. This duo might not be to that caliber, but two Chicago natives making great music is a cool thing to witness. This video is a great example of that.
